Living & Working in Peterbrough

Peterborough - a great place to live and work!

A City with a distinguished heritage

Peterborough has plenty of history (we have Bronze Age and Roman settelements, acathedral dating from the early 1100's) but is now the UK's fastest growing, thoroughly modern city over just over 200,000 residents.

A City with outstanding connections

We have unparalleled communications links, being on the key A1(M) and A47 road routes and the main East Coast train line (putting London Kings Cross within 50 minutes of Peterborough station.).  We are planned to be only the second city in the UK to have hyperfast Gigabit internet rolling out from 2014.  We are within 90 minutes of a number of key airports including London Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, East Midlands and Birmingham.  Getting around within the city is also easy, with some of the shortest commute times of any UK city.

First class medical facilities

The completely new Peterborough City Hospital was opened in 2010.  Whilst it has made headlines for being in financial difficulties due to an ill-advised PFI financing deal, it is gaining a very good reputation for its care.
